Day 4 of Cleansing Protocol
Meyer lemon

Thought it was pretty silly of me to post on the day of so, it's now day 5, yet most of this will be about Day 4.

Whomever said that you're not hungry after day 3, lied. Yesterday ~ and today ~ I'm hungry ~ although, it may be monkey mind hungry since all I want is the Swiss cheese I see whenever I open the fridge.

Yesterday then ~ I finally made juice! Celery, ginger, 1/2 Meyer lemon, cuke, carrots and tops, beets and an apple. Surprisingly good. About 2 cups. Amazing how much produce it takes to make a couple of cups of juice.

I'm out of the grapes I got Sunday. Dates are gone as well.

Barely any bm's yesterday. Something like rabbit pellets.

Got some playout in though! Before the "Over 40" ladies came, I got in about 3,000 steps. After they came, got in about 2,000-3,000 more plus, we played with Sand Bells, up to 25#'s, kettlebells and did some bodyweight movement. That was about an hour's worth with them.

Last evening I went to my teacher's class and we did some heavy kb's. I suprised myself. We did a LOT of cleans. I was mostly using 18-25 pounds. After about 40 minutes or so, he brought out the bigger kbs. I did a "farmer's carry" with two, 40# kb's equaling 80#'s; then lifted two 53# kb's, of course equaling 106#'s. Also, double cleaned and pressed two 18# kbs at the same time.(Pretty sure much of this sounds like gibberish to you).

Getting 4-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night AND, I've dropped 6#'s of the 20-25 I'm looking to eliminate! Yahoooo!

     Be back with more later!!!

Nov. 20, 2011 ~ Day 3 of Cleansing Protocol
A picture taken, of A Green Salad.

Closed out yesterday with a large mixed green and spinach salad and 2 persimmons. Lemon juice and Braggs on the salad.

Today so far... not much. Hmmmm.... apple juice ~ 1/4 aj and 3/4 water and grapes??? Oh! And 1 Fuji apple. I guess that's all. Going to make some carrot (with tops), beet, apple and ginger juice as soon as I finish this.

We went to one of my favorite farmers' markets this morning and got all organic apples, carrots, beets, grapes, kale, ginger and ummmm.... hmmm.

One thing I'm going to write in my journal are all the things I'd like to have happend during this cleanse. Not sure how long I'll stay on it yet, I'm thinking after a certain time, I'll just stay with raw foods. Can't tell you what that means yet.

At this time, I'm hungry! (is that a suprise?) AND, His Swiss cheese is calling my name. That's it though really. I could probably eat the whole pack but, gonna stay true to this for a bit.

What I want to accomplish ~

Get down to -125 pounds by Feb. 6 ~ my 63rd birthday

Eliminate tinnitus

Improve vision

Heal gums and strengthen teeth

Gain more muscle

I guess that's enough for now. I'm sure as I go along ~ oh wait!!! Memory!!! Improve memory ~ Funny how I forgot that!

Bm's ~ nothing yesterday. Nada! Zilch! A fairly good one this morning and, one very small one just a bit ago.

I've gotten in more than 12,000 steps today. 3.5 mile walk this morning before it rained; got the rest in at the farmers' market.

I'm feeling really proud of myself. One of the biggest issues here is, He eats a lot of stuff I like. Before we got married, I was, if not 100% raw, at least vegan. Since then, I've eaten stuff that really doesn't make me feel good ~ although it tastes really good ~ and, I've gained about 25 pounds. Time (again) to, let that go!

Feel free to post comments here and/or, start your own blog!!! See under "Members" it says "blogs"? I have no clue where they'll end up but, go 'head, write on!!!

Nov. 19, 2011 ~ Day 2 of Cleansing Protocol
Close-up of fruit salad

This is basically day 2 of raw eating with lots of water/juice and/or smoozie added.

Got home from patrol about 2:30 a.m. Right to bed and sleep and up at 6:30, feeling great! About 6 celery sticks, 3 dates and water with apple juice so far. Although, about 12:30 a.m. while out on patrol, I purchased a raw fruit salad which contained cut up melon. Not great but decent. Haven't been hungry at all, even when we stopped at a restaurant and my partner got himself a BLT sandwich.

I woke up thirsty and, now that I've taken a nap (it's about 2:25 p.m.) I realize, I'm not drinking enough fluid. Only finished one 24 oz glass. Gotta get more fluid in me.

     I'll probably make a smoozie and, eat a persimmon ~ or 2.

Oh! This morning I was down a really good 3 pounds. You might say it's water weight but, I drank quite a bit yesterday ~ yeah, peed quite a bit as well. Hmmm. I wonder if it was fecal matter!!! Eliminated quite a bit yesterday.

Big difference from yesterday and today... haven't really gotten any movement in and no bm's!!! Movement begets bm's!!!! Groggy from nappie so, I'll see how I feel in a bit. Definitely movement and more fluid is on tap for this afternoon/evening ~ oh! And at least one persimmon.

Juice Feasting
Smoothy of orange juice, apple, carrot, beet a...

Today, I'm going to add juices to my food program. I'm thinking of doing 100% juice yet, I'm also thinking I'll be doing smoozie (green smoothies) as well. Not totally sure yet. What I am sure of is, I'm going to up my food program. I've been slacking a bit and, don't like it. I don't like the way I feel; I don't like the way my skin is. I've got plenty of time to make juices and smoothies; I know to eat better, etc.

There it is! That simple! Going shopping after class and picking up veggies and fruits I want to add to my daily food program. The monkey mind doesn't want me to do this ~ at all! It's in total fear of my not eating "real" i.e. cooked food. Not like I've not done it before! It's also got issues about Thanksgiving coming up. In fact, we don't really do anything special for Thanksgiving. To me, every day is a great day to give thanks. Why make one man-made day special?

So, here I go! Juices and smoozies for, let's begin with 5 days. HAH! The monkey said... how about 3? O.k, well, 3 then. AND, it now wants to add salads... with rice. So, I may add salads.... no oil dressing.

What I think I'm doing is, tricking the monkey mind. Giving it concessions ~ letting it think its winning. Then again, maybe it's tricking me. We'll see, wont we?

On the books below, left one "should" be paperback; the right one, is Kindle version.

Keeping it Simple
Sunset at Griffith park, with a view of west L...

Image via Wikipedia

I'm always impressed by how we as humans need to complicate things. For instance, recently someone put up a hooping event at a park that has VERY easy access; free parking; picnic tables and bar-b-ques already set up. Living where we do, we are easily gotten to by folk who live on the east and the westside of Los Angeles.

Someone asked why we don't choose another spot that's easier for the west side to get to so, Griffith Park was named. The last time I went to an event at GP, it was so crowded I couldn't even get into the drive without having to wait in line. I had no clue where the event was or where to park. (It's a HUGE park with multiple entries and exits.)

I asked, why complicate this? When events are held on the westside, no one checks to see if it's easy for us on the east side to get to and they also forget about the Inland Empire folk who probably wont make the treck out that far anyway.

So, I'm just venting. I see it so often. Let's make it difficult to get somewhere or do something because one person doesn't like the location or the time, etc. Well, is what it is. Probably going to end up at the original location anyway. Pretty sure that's where I'll be ~ unless they make it more convenient.

Seeya!
